And on the subject of race, I love W. Kamau Bell’s standup but I have mixed feelings about his new FX show Totally Biased With W. Kamau Bell, produced by Chris Rock. Weekend Update crossed with Tosh.O crossed with The Daily Show, Totally Biased deals with issues that East and West Coast lefties might care about if they haven’t seen the issues covered more expertly by the shows it’s clearly inspired by.

I thought Bell covered it pretty well himself when he took issue with Bob Costas saying that Gabby Douglas would inspire African American girls everywhere. Bell said that in this day and age, Gabby Douglas should inspire ALL girls everywhere. If we’re all being universal and stuff, doesn’t that mean Bell’s show is kind of unnecessary?
